RPG Items: Cloak of Galt'handa

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

The Cloak of Galt'handa is a unique item, crafted as a tribute to a great cartographer who helped map some of the large tunnel and cave structures in the Eastern realm. It is said to be the product of several mages' efforts over many years, created as a thank you for the services that Galt provided.

The cloak requires attunment, and once attuned, it offers the following benefits:

The cloak grants the wearer the ability to see in complete darkness, thanks to a darkvision of 30 feet. This allows the wearer to navigate through dark caves and tunnels with ease. Additionally, the cloak also gives the wearer the ability to move silently, making it easier for them to sneak around and avoid detection.

The cloak's fabric is enchanted to provide temperature regulation for the wearer, which keeps them comfortable in extreme temperatures. This is especially useful for those who are exploring underground caves and tunnels, where temperatures can fluctuate greatly. It also offers an additional layer of protection for the wearer, with a +1 bonus to their armor class.

The cloak's embroidery and small, glowing runes imbued with magic, making the wearer better suited to exploring underground caves and tunnels. These runes grant the wearer advantage on hiding, which makes it harder for enemies to spot the wearer, and advantage on search checks, allowing the wearer to find hidden objects and secrets more easily.

The Cloak of Galt'handa is made from a thick, grey coloured fabric and is lined with a soft, insulating material. It is designed to be worn over armor, and is adorned with intricate embroidery and large glowing clasp.
